When Mariah and Justin contacted me about shooting their beach engagement session, I knew it was going to be a lot of fun. Not only are these two the best (and so in love) – but Galveston is SUCH a fun place to shoot.

You have the boardwalk area with fun attractions, the State park, and lots of beaches all along Seawall Dr. All of this is only about an hour drive from Houston, and then you get an entirely different background than you ever would in the Houston area. As a Houston wedding photographer it’s nice to have that variety so close.

We chose to do their beach engagement session about an hour before sunset, so we could get that golden hour at the end of the day. The weather decided to be just a little bit overcast, but in the end I really liked the way it looked. Sometimes overcast is the best lighting ever. Especially for engagement sessions when you are moving around a lot, it provides a lot of flexibility and we were able to shoot all over the beach without worrying as much about shadows & lighting.

I LOVE shooting in Galveston and could shoot there alllll day. Mariah & Justin, thank you for choosing me for your epic beach engagement session. I loved shooting with you two and hope you cherish these images for years to come! Congrats!!
